<description>I was reading your blog because of a google hit for the Wanyakusa people. I hope you are still taking or answering questions about your time in Tanzania. If so, I thank you in advance for your time.

I am looking for some information on the name/term &quot;Anwisye.&quot; I have a family member who got the name/term from a name book. He says the term means, &quot;listens to God.&quot; However, I have not been able to verify this anywhere else beside this one name book. And in asking friends who speak kiswahili about the term, they dont know this particular dialect.

I asked another blogger about the term and he responded that it did not have the meaning above, and that it was not a wanyakusa term, even though it looked like it could be. he also indicated he was athiest and had no intention of telling me the correct way to say that phrase.

I am willing to accept his answer but his second condition makes me wonder if he was being honest and forthright. I am uncertain and therefore seeking a second opinion - or tie breaker.

Thanks for taking time to read this. I look forward to your response.

Cordially

<description>Ahem. Yes, Jeremy---I do read your blog.

Good luck on the GREs, man! They&#039;re a royal pain, but you should go for it. My scores improved the second time around (though not much, actually), and I got into TWO schools this time, which is twice as many as last time! So I&#039;ll be getting my PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder ... frickin&#039; sweeeet!

Take care, and I&#039;ll hope to catch you on IM/facebook/email/IRL soon!
